Travel Mexico - Teotihuacan
The name Teotihuacan was given by the Aztec centuries after the fall of the city, and is translated as "the place where men became gods". There is archaeological evidence that Teotihuacan had been a multi-ethnic place, with distinct Zapotec, Mixtec, Maya and what seems to be Nahua quarters. The city was located in what is now the San Juan Teotihuacán municipality in the State of México, approximately 40 km (24.8 mi) northeast of Mexico City. It covers a total surface area of 83 km² and was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 |
