Travel Mexico - Zipolite

Zipolite, near Puerto Angel, in the State of Oaxaca is a free and easy beach destination where many tourists go to relax. You can sleep in hammocks on the edge of the beach, while others bake naked on the beach, play volleyball and generally spend the day relaxing.

Still a popular destination for backpackers, Zipolite caters to a younger crowd, including young couples and families, predominantly from Europe and Canada. It is also a resting spot for many gay backpackers and tourists who enjoy its laid-back lifestyle. The beach is beautiful but dangerous for swimming, and once claimed as many as 40 lives a year. Since the establishment of a professionally trained and highly effective life guard program deaths are now infrequent. Nevertheless, extreme caution is advised when swimming; flags are routinely posted indicating when it is safe.

To get to here you will need to go to Pochutla then on to Zipolite.
